Abstract

Digenea simplex (Wulfen) C. Agardh is a marine macroalga that has not been documented and preserved from the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea since the end of the 19th century and has currently been rediscovered in 2021 in a lagoon in the vicinity of Funtana on the west coast of Istria. We report a new record of this species in the Rovinj area. This record is significant for future studies on the biology and ecology of this alga and has a potential significance in establishing the impact of climate change on distinct taxa.
