Abstract

The present work describes several possible options for using waste wood from the woodworking industry as a raw material for manufacturing design products with high value-added. In the production of plywood, as well as engineered wood products (EWP), low final yields are obtained. A large portion of wood waste consists of peeler cores, veneer pieces, large and small pieces with defects, cut pieces, shavings, etc. This study offers the author’s approach to the use of this raw material, as the planning, design and fabrication were carried out in laboratory conditions. The resulting products have the necessary physical and mechanical properties that satisfy the needs of both the furniture and construction industries. The information presented could be a foundation for introducing and implementing the products described in the industry.
