Abstract

This paper aims to present an analysis of the Požega City Theatre (Gradsko kazalište Požega) in the period from September 2013 to September 2024, with emphasis on the process of professionalization and programme development. The methodology includes the analysis of the institutional status, programme reports, and a quantitative analysis of in-house production, guest performances, and the number of premiere titles. In these ten years, six new projects were launched, “Kazališne novine” were relaunched in 2014, and through continuous work, the theatre achieved an exceptional quantitative leap with approximately 80 premiere titles in total (averaging 8 per season) and more than 600 performances realized. The results indicate a significant increase in the number of visitors, an increase in the number of guest performances of the in-house production (43), and awards won (10), thus achieving the first goal set in 2013 – attracting audience and gaining recognition. The conclusion reaffirms the continuous work, the achievement of goals, and the attainment of noticeable financial stability, recognition, and project sustainability.
