Use of thermography in civil engineering
Vladimir Pašagić
Abstract
The infrared thermography or thermography is a contactless method for measuring the radiation energy. By measuring the radiation energy, the surface temperature of the building/facility under study is also measured, and so conclusions can be made about static and dynamic properties of such buildings. Various possibilities of using the infrared thermography in civil engineering applications are presented. The author describes the physical concept behind thermography, the measurement method principle, the operation of thermographic devices and relevant standards, and provides appropriate practical examples.
