Abstract

A general characteristic of the contemporary anthropological and
ethnological research is ignoring the theoretic and methodological
meaning and role of the philosophical anthropology and its tradition.
Any philosophical research of this kind starts from some philosophical
premises and understandings of man, man's essence, the sense of man's creativity, culture, history etc. And this theoric link of the socio-cultural anthropology with philosophical anthropology has its methodological repercussions, since the course of the research, the
problems in focus and the methods applied depend on the theorical
starting points. Only by a fortunate combination of theory (which necessarily comprehends a philosophical-anthropological point of view) and experience can the contemporary socio-cultural anthropology resolve the crisis of its traditional paradigms and concepts.
