Two proofs of Herons's formula

Abstract

This paper contains interesting and elegant proof of the Heron's Formula
obtained by high school student Miles Edwards, published in American Mathematics Monthly, Vol. 114, No. 10, 2007, p. 937 .
The proof is interesting for its usage of complex numbers. In this paper
we wanted to
emphasize that this proof illustrates that sometimes unusual approach
to standard problems can produce interesting and skillful, precise mathematical result.
