Abstract

For this academic year a students’ project is put on the mother tongue syllabus for the third grade of high school. Getting deeper into the project started by their older school mates which was called Križevci in the mid 19th century, the students continued to investigate new opportunities offered by literary works from the Revival Period. Together with their teacher they agreed ‘to follow’ the route Antun Nemčić took in his travelogue Putositnice / Travel trifles to get to Verona. Their aim was to compare and research in what way to motivate nowadays travellers to take the same direction. The data were collected in the town library, the museum, the internet, tourist offices of the places Nemčić visited etc. Finally they came up with an interesting itinerary showing how a work from the past could serve as a model to creatively frame new ideas using youthful curiosity of future tourist entrepreneurs. The project also commemorated the anniversary of Nemčić’s death.
