Guides for article searching

Search results (articles) are ordered by relevance (number of times search string apears in result) or by publishing date.

Search capability supports the following operators:
+
A leading plus sign indicates that this word must be present in each result that is returned.
-
A leading minus sign indicates that this word must not be present in any of the results that are returned.
*
The asterisk serves as the truncation operator and replaces any string. Unlike the other operators, it should be appended to the word to be affected.
"
A phrase that is enclosed within double quote characters matches only results that contain the phrase literally, as it was typed.
The following examples demonstrate some searches:
apple banana
Find results that contain both words.
+apple -macintosh
Find results that contain the word “apple” but not “macintosh”.
apple*
Find results that contain words such as “apple”, “apples”, “applesauce”, or “applet”.
"some words"
Find results that contain the exact phrase “some words” (for example, results that contain “some words of wisdom” but not “some noise words”). Note that the ‘"’ characters that surround the phrase are operator characters that delimit the phrase.

Basic search is done on fields: article title, authors, abstract and keywords.

Advanced search is done on fields: article title, authors, abstract, keywords, publisher, journal title, Hrčak ID, DOI, project, ISSN, ORCID, affiliation, full text, scientific area / field, year, article language and type of article.

"Year" is the chronological year of the issue; the year is indicated in the numerical markings of the issue (e.g. Vol.6 No.4, 2018). It's the year listed in the HRČAK journal's archive and it's used in citing.

"Publication date" is the date when the journal was officially published. If the publication of the issue was delayed, the year of "Publication date" does not have to be the same as the chronological "Year" of the issue.

"Published on HRČAK" is the date when the issue was publicly available on HRČAK.
