Sažetak

In this paper I have investigated, analyzed and
revised technical, commercial and business
trends in offset printing, especially in the field of
sheetfed. There is a hypothesis that the highest
level of automation within conventional printing
greatly reduces the market share and the need for
digital printing methods.
I used analysis and synthesis as basic research
methods. Scientific conclusions were derived
from research data and variables of the research
agencies themselves, machine manufacturers and
their analytical systems, and case studies of some
representative systems from the proposed research
domain - 8 offset printing systems were analyzed
in detail, with the most recent level of automation.
The set of analysis provides findings that
significantly simplify the structure, guidelines and
general picture of trends in the existing industry.
I think that the hypothesis has been proven in the
paper. For further, more elaborate and exacting
conclusions are necessary to further research on
a much larger sample, which will be further steps
within the subject research. Findings can serve
as a signpost and trend guidelines, investment
decision making methods, and overall business
system support in general.
