The cognitive aspect of the five factor personality model – a contribution
Krunoslav Matešić
Sažetak
The Costa and McCray (1992) Five factor personality model claims a correlation between Openness to experience and intelligence. This study tested the hypothesis. The NEO-FFI Personality Inventory and the Test of general information (TGI), which measures some aspects of crystallised intelligence (Zarevski, 1995) were administered on a sample of 476 males (average age M = 20,8 years, SD = 1,99). A statistically significant correlation was obtained between Openness to experience and success on the TGI test of r = 0 ,29 , p < 0,01, which confirms the constructual validity of the NEO-FFI Inventory.
