Sažetak

Imagining people's functions in everyday life and work without ICT seems complicated. Since it substantially ensures the competitiveness of different systems at the micro and macro levels, its application is ubiquitous, regardless of the aspect from which it is observed. Numerous national and multinational strategies try to encourage educational systems, focusing on ICT to acquire skills, competencies and knowledge more effectively. This should represent added value to all future generations. This article emphasizes the structural approach to market divergence, and it analyzes the representation of the ICT development index (ICT) in European countries that compares a set of Scandinavian countries and other European Union countries. It is known that Scandinavian countries belong to those countries that have recognized the importance of involving ICT in educational programs, which improves the economy of a particular selected country. Considering this, the research reveals how ICT is essential in improving socio-economic development in many countries.

Iris Mihajlović, University of Dubrovnik, Croatia

Iris Mihajlović, PhD, Associate Professor at University of Dubrovnik, Department of Economics and Business Economics. In 2000, she completed the postgraduate master's degree in Management at the Faculty of Economics, University of Split, and by submitting her thesis “The Vision and Development Strategy of the Hotel Industry in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County”, she received a master's degree in economics. She obtained her PhD in social sciences, economics, industry - trade and tourism in 2012. at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb, by defending her dissertation entitled “Transformation of Croatian travel agencies in terms of socio-economic and tourism development in the 21st century”. Her main interests are distribution systems, transformation processes and innovation management, E-Marketing, consumer behaviour, and tourism intermediaries. Iris Mihajlović published several scientific papers in international and national journals and participated in many scientific international conferences. Marino Stanković, University of Dubrovnik, Croatia

Marino Stanković, MSc in Business Economics, works as a Project administrator at the University of Dubrovnik, Department of Economics and Business Economics. His main interests are in the direction of the tourism industry, sustainable tourism, marketing in tourism, and statistics analyses. Marino Stanković published one scientific paper in an international journal and participated in several international scientific conferences. Cvijeta Djevojić, University of Dubrovnik, Croatia

Cvijeta Djevojić, MSc in Business Economics, is a PhD student at the University of Dubrovnik, Department of Economics and Business Economics. She is a senior advisor for planning and analysis at Dubrovnik General Hospital, Department of Economics and Financial Affairs, and a professional associate at the University of Dubrovnik, Department of Economics and Business Economics. Her main interests are marketing, digital marketing, internal marketing, marketing management, and non-profit organizations.
