About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Media Studies is an interdisciplinary scientific journal published by the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. The journal was established in order to provide an international forum for the presentation of research and advancement of discourse concerning media, communications, journalism, and public relations, within each field’s cultural, historical, political and/or economic contexts.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts shall undergo a rigorous international, double-blind peer review in which the identity of both the reviewer and author are respectfully concealed from both parties.
The role of the peer-reviewer is to evaluate incoming submissions relayed from the editorial team. Peer reviewers should provide actionable comments and concrete ideas for improvement. Based on these comments, the authors are asked to modify their articles.

Publication Frequency
The journal is published twice yearly in June and December.
Open Access Policy
Medijske studije (Media Studies) is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Journal History
First issue of the scientific journal Media Studies was published in 2010. Journal is published by the Faculty of Political Science of Zagreb University. Since 2013 journal has been published in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia.
