Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript text is anonymized.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is iMicrosoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Article contains no less than 6000, and no more than 10000 words (including notes, references and illustrations).
  • Book Reviews are 800-1200 words in length.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • An abstract of 150 words both in English and Croatian language is included.
  • Five key words are included.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • Authorship form filled for each author/coauthor and signed

Author Guidelines

JOURNAL CODE OF ETHICS

The Croatian Political Science Review  is committed to the highest professional and ethical standards, which includes zero tolerance for plagiarism and other unacceptable forms of work in academia and publishing. All submitted articles, in order to be considered for publication, must show awareness of ethical issues such as full citation of sources and authors of other authors, respect for the plurality of ideas and approaches, complete rejection of any forms of hate speech and discrimination on any grounds, correct use of sources, respect for copyright and avoidance - and if this is not possible, clear declaration - of any conflict of interest. Papers that do not comply with these requirements will not be considered for publication. The author is responsible for adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards, and must obtain permission to transmit parts of the text, visual and other material for which permission from the author or publisher is required. The journal does not receive or publish articles that are simultaneously submitted for consideration to other journals, or have already been published elsewhere.

CITATION STYLE

Citation in the text must be consistent with the Harvard citation style , and in accordance with the following rules: -

In text citation:

Mitchell (2017, p. 189) states.. Or (Mitchell, 2017, p. 189)

 

When citing a source with two or three authors, state all surnames like so:

Mitchell, Smith and Thomson (2017, p. 189) states… Or

(Mitchell, Coyne and Thomson, 2017, p. 189)

 

In case of multiple authors, first author’s surname should be stated followed by ‘et al’:

Mitchell et al (2017, p. 189) states… Or (Mitchell et al, 2017, p, 189

Research Notes

Research Notes sections

Research note is suitable for:

- Extensions or updates to previously published research
- Short descriptions of research projects that do not yet provide publishable results but represent valuable information regarding protocol and data collection

Research notes shold not be more than 2000 in lenght.
