About the Journal

Political Perspectives is a regional scientific journal co-published by the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade and the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb, in cooperation with the Serbian Political Science Association. The journal has a broad focus on political science and related disciplines, and the aim of the journal is to contribute to the development of the discipline of political science in Southeast Europe, but also to foster an interdisciplinary dialog in the region of Southeast Europe.

We welcome submissions in any of the political science subfields, political theory, comparative politics, national politics, international relations, national security, political economy, Europeanization, democratization, public policy and administration, political communication and media. Even though the journal has a strong political science affiliation it is open to contributions from other social sciences and humanities. Therefore, the objective of the journal is to promote a broader research focus on politics, so we welcome the submission of papers with sociology, philosophy, law, and economics background. We are especially interested in innovative approaches and broadening the horizons of the social science disciplines.

The journal was established in 2011. in cooperation between the two of the oldest political science institutions in the region, Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb and Belgrade, with a view to create a wider academic public for research conducted and published in the mutually understandable languages of the region: Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian. It is financed by the two founding institutions, but the editors and the editorial board operate on voluntary basis. Also, with the aim to promote regional political science insights and innovations in the international scientific community, the journal publishes papers in English.

Political Perspectives, journal for political research is published two (2) times a year (June and December) and publishes peer-reviewed contributions in Croatian, Serbian and English. All manuscripts are being evaluated by the editorial board and then sent to double blind peer review. Our peer reviewers are both national and international. Submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism before reviews (by the software Turnitin). Papers for publication are submitted to the OJS system of the journal: https://hrcak.srce.hr/ojs/index.php/politicke-perspektive.

Political Perspectives is an open access journal. All issues of the journal Political Perspectives are available in open access and all the content of the journal may be used by individuals or institutional users free of charge. All users are permitted to read, save, photocopy, print, distribute, search and share portions or full texts of articles, reviews, book reviews and other content without asking for a consent or permission by the author or the publisher as long as they attribute the source in an appropriate manner (Creative Commons Licence: BY-NC-ND, Attribution Non-commercial No Derivatives).

The journal Political Perspectives does not charge authors to process or publish a paper. The journal does not have article processing charges (APCs), submission charges, review charges or any other charges asked in order to complete the publication process. After publication, authors are allowed to publish summitted version of the article, author accepted manuscript or published version in any repository, with noting that the paper was published in Political Perspectives. Authors retain the copyright.
