Abstract

Vojvodina is an area of the most complex ethnicity in Yugoslavia. All 34 ethnic groups, cited in the 1981 Population Census, are represented in Vojvodina. This is a Consequence of colonization in the period from the second half of the 18th century. Demographic dynamics and ethnicity show some characteristics of inter-dependence: Serbian districs are demographically more dynamic and youger, while Hungarian districs are more inert, whit a considerably older population structure. Mono-ethnicity and nuptiality show a highly positive correlation. The process of serbianization is presented.
