Abstract

This paper discusses the education of professional sportsmen and future career in business. First part of the paper suggests what a sportsman should do in planning his or her future business career. Moreover, the paper discusses what is meant by the term dual career. Some well-known sportsmen from Croatia are presented as the examples of good praxis when top sportsmen make business careers. At the end of the paper Međimurje University of Applied Sciences in Čakovec, and the study program Management in tourism and sports, is presented as an institution where top sportsmen are educated which enables them creation of foundation for future business careers.
