Abstract

The Occupational Safety Act defines the subjects, their rights, obligations and responsibilities in the implementation of occupational safety, as well as the occupational safety regulations system intended to prevent injury at work, occupational diseases, other health disorders related to the work environment, and the protection of the work environment. The goal of the study was to obtain some initial results, check the suitability of the applied study methods, and to determine the direction the study of occupational safety management should take in Croatian companies. The study results provide information on the prescribed occupational safety management as implemented by employers, employers’ agents, immediate agents and employees’ deputies. A comparison of results obtained in Me|imurje and Vara`din counties is provided. Assessment of the obtained data on occupational safety management yields conclusions regarding the correspondence between the occupational safety measures as implemented in practice and the prescribed system of measures.
