Sažetak
The aim of this paper was to give some frames to think about methodological value and structure of the concept »indicator«. For taking into account all the possible indicators is not possible, nor economical, nor needed, the researcher always take into the considerations only a selection of the disposable indicators. Such choice is what we call the basic indicators cluster. In sociology and related disciplines, including the S&D researches, we often meet situations of measuring and empirically expressing features of various level of concretability: some objective social dimensions as same as subjective perceptions of certain social phenomena by the society members. We distinguish two kinds of indicators: objective and subjective ones. According to the depth of entering into the structure of investigated topic we distinguish between four kinds of indicators: direct (Ist level indicators), derived (IInd level indicators), relational (IIIrd level indicators) and qualitative (IVth level ind.) ones. According to complexity we distinguish between simple and complex indicators, and specified and non-specified indicators — according to theirs level of articulation.
