Sažetak
Cornstalk was additionally dried in a dehydrator and ground on a sieve with 6 mm meshes.
It was found that it contained 5.735 crude protein and 48,71% ADF in dry matter. Compared to alfalfa meal (17% crude protein) cornstalk had lower relative mass by 77%. In trial feeding bulls sere given complete mashes containing 20 and 40% cornstalk meal, respectively. In feeding from 260 to 500 kg of livebody weight, these mashes produced nearly the same daily weight gain as the control mash (40% alfalfa meal) (P>0,05). The consumption of mashes with cornstalk meal was increased by 3.3 and 4.5%, respctively, because of their lower energy concentration. Statistically significant differences were not found between groups for dressing
percentage, carcass weight and LD muscle area (P>0.05).
