Abstract

Spraying at large working width is a tedious job for the driver. It is very difficult to distribute apply plant protection products uniformly without using the autopilot or driving paths on the field. In recent years the modern agricultural sprayers with large working width can be equipped with ultrasonic sensors to ensure optimal height reinforcement of the boom also at higher speed during the operation on slopes, so liquid fertilizers and pesticides are applied evenly in the crops. Ultrasonic sensors together with a microprocessor and solenoid hydraulic valve automatically adjusts the height of the nozzle at an appropriate distance from the soil or crops which significantly reduces losses of pesticides in the air and soil, and at the same time due to even distribution of protective agents increases their biological effectiveness.
