Sažetak

Sweet violet (Viola odorata L.) blooms in spring with delicate flowers of attractive scent which are the reason for its frequent gathering from natural habitats. Although the species is characterized by small flowers, it has been produced from ancient times to cut, and due to the attractive scent and early flowering it is a common species of traditional gardens. The application of sweet violet as a potted plant still has no tradition in Croatia, although it is customary abroad. Since the whole plant is edible and has medicinal properties, there are numerous possibilities of its usage for nutritional, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and other purposes. Apart from twigs, plant can be propagated by seed too. The proposed technology of production of sweet violets is to provide conditions similar to those that plants have in natural habitat. The aim of this paper is to present a possible production technology of sweet violet.
