Sažetak
The basis of high productivity production of berries in Central European scale represents a reduction in the cost of harvesting by the introduction of machines for harvest since the cost of labor increases significantly also in this part of Europe. The target group for the acquisition of the first machines for harvesting berries (raspberries, blackberries, currants and blueberries) represents farmers owing minimum of 2.5 hectares, on which generally smaller machines with side way of collecting berries are used that do not require extensive adoption of row form and crown growing. Larger increase in the efficiency of harvesting is possible whenever over-the-row harvester is introduced in the practice. However, significant activities in planning of new plantations, which includes designing of row forms, adapted for mechanical harvesting, introduction of the most advanced technologies for mechanical harvesting and planting the absolute best varieties for fresh consumption to be current and in the near future is required.
