Sažetak
In a ten-year application of the open model in class of Music Culture, during elementary school education, except for listening to music and the acquiring of musical content, singing was opted as the activity chosen the most. The interest for this activity in lower grades is connected to the systematical and quality implementation of singing in preschool institutions and in choir activities. Organized choir activities as part of non-formal music teaching, due to their numerous positive characteristics, are the most present form of extracurricular acquisition of musical knowledge and the development of musical capabilities in preschool children and students. In choir activities, the students’ musical preferences are influenced through the musical and singing development, as well as their attitudes on aesthetically worthy music. This work represents longitudinal research which was spent in a time range of one year, with the goal of inquiring the musical preferences of elementary education students and determining the influence of structural music education in choir singing on musical preferences.
