Sažetak
Although International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) and International Maritime Organization (IMO) have published a large number of manuals, reports, guidelines and recommendations concerning the e-Navigation architecture concept, additional clarification and the improvement regarding functional connections can still be achieved if the architecture is observed in the context of new Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This paper synthesizes the previous research and official relevant documents related to the e-Navigation architecture. By combining the existing scientific literature and various official documents published by organizations such as IMO, IALA, and International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), the paper provides an analysis of the existing e-Navigation architecture, as well as the concepts for future e-Navigation architecture regarding the ICT technologies. Special attention is given to the functional connections and data/information flow within the e-Navigation architecture. In the context of emerging ICT technologies, certain recommendations regarding e-Navigation architecture are provided.
