Abstract

From the position of agricultural policy, rural development implies an intervention process that raises the quality of life in a rural area and promotes balanced development. Regions differ in their preferences and capacity to absorb support through EU funds. Therefore, the objectives of this paper are to determine the distribution of contracted funds by county, and to determine whether there is a correlation between the socioeconomic status of Croatian counties and the amount of contracted funds from the EAFRD. According to preliminary results, the connection is partial and often conditioned by specific tender conditions.
