The Difference in some Factors of Strength between Student Groups of High School for Physical Culture in Zagreb (VŠFK) Formed According to Entering Examination Results

Abstract

According to entering examination results the students of VŠFK were classified into three relatively homogeneous groups in order to make pedagogical process as efficient as possible.
In this work two qualitatively opposite groups of 30 subjects each were analysed.
Belonging to the groups was treated as a criterion variable and the results in 9 strength test as predictor variables.
Regression analysis showed that prediction of belonging to qualitative different groups by strength test was relatively efficient.
The differences in factors of explosive strength of arms and shoulders and repetitive strength of legs between groups were determined by Fisher's discriminative analysis. Significantly discriminant were factors of explosive and repetitive strength of arms and shoulders.
