Abstract

On a corpus of high-school textbooks and basic grammars and language manuals intended for high-school students, synonymous relationships in basic linguistic terminology are analyzed and presented in tables. To these pairs and strings of synonyms terminological principles are applied. Terminological problems are highlighted and possible solutions suggested. Special focus is given to the terminology of pholonogy (studied in the 1st year of high school) as the authors think that most problems and inconsistencies occur on this level. They present a model, that systematizes this terminology and clearly differentiates between different levels and criteria of classification.
