Sažetak

The first part of the article debates the question of basic characteristics, contemporary socio-cultural and social circumstances and the occurence of the nowadays' charismatic religiosity in the pluralistic society. Modern society, which was born after the downfall of the medieval sacralized society, as far as religiosity and religious phenomena are concerned, was mostly marked by secularizing processes and the radical secularity of the world. In such society, however, the way of thinking of the Enlightenment has generated also its own religious components. First of all, a faith in a positivistically oriented sciences and its soteriological promises, the rationalistic explanations and the solution of all human questions and problems, the belief in a linear progress of human society, the Utopian promises of great ideologies. The post-modern society acts, on the contrary, by destroying these religious component of modernity, while at the religious level there is a return of the holy, a revitalisation of religion, the occurence of anti-secularizing processes, of post-secular inundations of „new“ religious movements as well as of various and different sacral societies. The second part of the text debates the question of the contemporary charismatic movement within the Catholic church which took rise by the end of the sixties in the last century and spread with great speed throughout the world. This movement that rehabilitates the authentic religious dimensions of life of the faithfulls became the most important spiritual event and movement of the 20th century.
