Sažetak
The sample of 540 men aged to 19 to 27 was selected to analyze, by means of the iterative regression analysis, the relations between spatial morphological characteristics and body mass. Interpretatively identical results were obtained under both the inclusion model and the elimination model.
Only 11 variables, dominated by measures of muscular mass and height, were sufficient to explain 96.4% of the variance of body mass. Almost 94% of this variance could be explained on the basis of only these diamater measures: thigh, height, breast, lower arm. It can therefore be concluded that besides height, we must include both direct and indirect measures of muscular mass when computing the index of body weight.
