Abstract

The paper depicts the Renaissance humanistic sphere that flooded the shores of the eastern Adriatic at the end of the 14th century and early XV century. Humanistic tendencies among Dalmatian patricians, which were mostly manifested in literary circles, are an important aspect of the interdisciplinary study of the Dalmatian Renaissance. The interpretation of Hektorović's poetic expression and Hvar›s intellectual circle is directly related to the epigraphic analysis of the inscription that adorns the poet›s Hvar summer house - Tvrdalj.
