Sažetak
The Croatian Spring movement started in the 1960s. One of its main bearers was the leading body of the League of Communists of Croatia. This paper examines its relationship with the president of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito. The relationship was oscillating between Tito’s support and condemnation. Considering the fact that he himself was a reform advocate, he was initially supporting the Croatian leadership, but he retracted his support due to accusations of nationalism that were directed toward him. After he discovered that the accusations were false, he returned to the supporting attitude only to abruptly eliminate the croatian party leadership by the end of 1971 with the aim of maintaining the internal and external stability of Yugoslavia.
