Sažetak
In this paper, the author analyses the ‘’financial engineering’’ affair that takes place in the period from 1991–1993, by placing it in the context of economic, political, safety and social situation in the country. The author used the original archive material and one unit of a journal periodical. With the example of the ‘’financial engineering’’ affair, his attempt was to depict and to explain the key characteristics of social, economic and political situation in Croatia during the Homeland War, while concentrating on Zagreb, the focus area where the affair had the most impact.
