Abstract

Introduction: This paper presents the role of the library at the University Hospital Centre (UHC) Osijek, where health, scientific, teaching, librarian and publishing activities are being conducted with special accent on its role in productivity measurement and evaluation of the scientific organisation registered at Research Organisations Registry of the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Science and Education.
Materials and methods: The sample were indexed papers authored by UHC Osijek employees registered at Registry of Researchers, and the method was retrospective research conducted on relevant databases. Bibliometric analysis was based on quantitative data regarding the number of indexed and cited papers published from 2010 to 2014, represented in multidisciplinary bibliographic database CC, bibliographic and citation database WoSCC (in particular, in three most prestigious indexes: SCIE, SSCI and AHCI), bibliographic biomedical database Medline, as well as multidisciplinary bibliographic and citation database Scopus. Citation analysis was conducted using WoS database.
Results and Discussion: In January 2015 there were 236 papers indexed in international secondary publications CC, SCIE and SSCI. In Medline there were 73 papers and in Scopus 26 (the total of 335 papers). In WoSCC there were 72 congress abstracts. The majority (71,8 %) of the published papers were original scientific papers (222). In January 2015, scientific and other (309) types of articles had 475 citations. H-index was 9.
Conclusions: Results show that there is a growth trend related to the number of papers indexed and cited, which is connected to advancements in scientific, scientific and teaching, and teaching positions, but at the same time also to evaluation of clinical, scientific and research as well as teaching work of University Hospital departments, institutes, reference centres as well as scientific organisation of Osijek University Hospital Centre in general.
