Ten years of Activities of the Quality Society of the Croatian Nurses Association 2012 – 2022

Sažetak
Introduction: The professional association of nurses according to a common area of professional interest is a tradition of the Croatian Nurses Association (CNA). The Quality Society of CNA was founded in 2012 following the trend of hiring nurses in the Quality Units and their specific needs for professional training. This work aims to present 10 years of activity of the Quality Society since its foundation in 2012.
Methods: The data presented in the paper were collected from the minutes of assemblies, reports on the work of the DZK, short announcements and letters to the editor of Nursing Journal, as well as texts published on the Internet by nursing organizations, which are significant for the activities of the Society.
Results: The Quality Society of CNA was founded on June 28, 2012, with the purpose of bringing together nurses working in Quality Units and head nurses of departments and institutions. The Professional society intends to strengthen the specific competencies of nurses working in Quality Units to continuously improve the quality of nursing care. The Society organized: 9 conferences, 11 symposia, 2 courses of the second category and 1 course of the first category, 8 expert meetings that marked the World Day for Prevention of Pressure Ulcers, two of which were held as symposia, and the rest were independent expert meetings, 5 workshops, 10 online professional meetings and published various publications. The Society's activities were also carried out in cooperation with other professional associations of nurses and doctors, various health institutions, and organizers of professional gatherings with a common interest in improving the quality of health care.
Conclusion: In 10 years of continuous activity, the Quality Society, in accordance with the goals of its establishment, enables nurses to receive professional training and acquire knowledge and skills based on specific competencies in the field of ensuring and improving the quality of health care and patient safety.
