Sažetak

The ageing population and rapid digital advancements underscore the necessity for research
of factors influencing the use of digital technologies in health and social care of the
elderly. Particularly evident is the need for research focused on examining the role of digital
assistive technologies in improving the quality of independent living for the elderly. This
paper presents findings from two focus groups conducted as part of the Senior 2030 project
– Thematic Network for Active Ageing Policy in Croatia. The aim was to explore the
perceptions of the elderly regarding the use of digital technologies and digital health care
and social care services, as well as to analyse their suggestions for addressing the identified
challenges. Through systematized suggestions of the participants, the research can provide
guidelines for the development of governmental measures in this critical area.
