The Presence of Poetry in Contemporary Croatian Playwriting – Monika Herceg

Abstract
The paper examines the playwriting of Monika Herceg regarding the presence of poetry and the elements of poetic drama in her plays. The paper establishes and analyses the specific qualities of her plays in terms of preferred subjects, formal elements and stylistic features, and its connection to (or departure from) the tradition of Croatian poetic drama, focusing in conclusion on the intersections of Monika Herceg’s playwriting with the categories of postdramatic and post-postdramatic writing.
