Sažetak

Feedback encompasses different aspects of learning and enables students to focus on the goal of the lesson while being conscious of their responsibility for their success. It should neither be strictly criticism, nor mere praise; rather, it should contain a set of information that will guide them in correcting their mistakes and learning. Feedback has a positive impact on student learning (Voerman et al., 2012) and is a key factor in increasing mathematical achievement (Clarke, 2001). The purpose of this action research is to improve elementary mathematics teaching through the provision of feedback. Analysis of the video recordings from the lessons revealed the prevalence of feedback aimed at assessing students’ comprehension and achievement. Additionally, students received feedback on the assignment. As the planned activities were implemented, an increase in student motivation, control over their own learning and student satisfaction was also observed. The findings demonstrate that it is possible to improve mathematics education by introducing changes that align with for the students’ abilities and interests. In doing so, it is crucial for teachers to be knowledgeable about effective teaching methods that must be adapted to the educational context in which they work.
