Sažetak

The paper explored the possibility of obtaining parametric resonance through the finite element method in the COSMOS/M software package. A nonlinear analysis method was employed in the NSTAR module, utilizing force increment control based on the Newton-Raphson method with a constant step size. The paper considered two finite element models. The first model consisted of a simple case of a hinge-supported IPE 120 profile column loaded with a longitudinal variable force at one end. The second, more complex, three-dimensional model of a concrete frame was analysed with a vertical dynamic acceleration at the columns support, aiming to achieve parametric resonance through the torsional response of the frame. The obtained results of the numerical models have shown that the parametric resonance in structures using the finite element method can be achieved.
