Sažetak
Archaeological investigation of the fortification sites in the Pakrac area – field surveys and small-scale trial excavations – began in the second half of the 20th century. It continued in the early 21st century, first on a smaller scale and then, with the beginning of the rescue excavations at the Stari grad Pakrac fortification in 2017, on a much larger scale. The archaeological supervision of construction works, systematic and selective surveying and collaboration with the local community and local mountaineers yielded and confirmed numerous archaeological sites of the fortification and settlement type: Omanovac, Lipovo 1 and 2, Donja Obrijež – Brdo/Prečina, Donji Grahovljani – Zidine, Kraguj – Omanovac (Omanovac – Planinski Rt and Omanovac – Turske kapije), Dragović – Čaklovac, Dragović – Ribnjaci, Tisovac – Bukovik and Orljavac – Gradina. The results of this investigation updated the map of medieval and prehistoric archaeological sites in Western Slavonia, while also enabling their legal protection.
