Abstract

Method of introduction of a special frame of reference - the single observer approach - is applied to problems in test particles machanics in general relativity. The equations of the first and the second deviations of a geodesic relative to an arbitrarily moving observer are obtained in the case of a „scalar“ (non-rotating) particle. Similar approach is developed for description of rotating particles (generalization of the Papapetrou equation). Corresponding Lagrangians are considered.
