Abstract

The School Radio was a specific and school-oriented radio programme that emerged in the historical context of the 1950s, created in the collaboration between Radio Zagreb and the Committee for Education, Science, and Culture of the People’s Republic of Croatia. This paper, based on the analysis of archival material from Croatian Radio Television, publications for radio workers, and periodicals for primary and secondary school teachers, aims to systematise the data on the development of the school radio program during the broadcasting period of The School Radio – from forming the editorial board in 1953 to 1960, when The School Radio becomes part of School Radio and Television. This paper aims to define and critically examine the features of The School Radio development phases and observe its methodological principles in creating a school-oriented educational radio programme.
