Sažetak
Bibliometric services are becoming an integral part of academic, research, and special libraries, particularly in the context of open science and the growing demand for the evaluation of research productivity. Librarians are increasingly involved in performing analyses, advising on research visibility, and supporting researchers and institutions in evaluation processes. The National and University Library in Zagreb has recognised the need to systematically strengthen librarians’ competencies in this field and has launched a programme of individual and group training sessions focused on both the theoretical framework and practical application of bibliometric tools and sources. This paper presents an overview of the training activities organised by the library since the beginning of 2024, including the development of The Central System for Bibliometric Analyses, as well as a review of the key legal regulations that define the provision of these services. The aim of the paper is to highlight the importance of training in ensuring high-quality bibliometric support in libraries and to encourage the continued development and standardisation of this area of library practice.
