Abstract

Water is one of the most important natural resources, essential for ecosystems, human health, and
sustainable development. Spring waters represent a significant part of water resources, characterized by their high quality and stable flow from underground reservoirs. Their purity and chemical composition depend on geological and hydrological conditions, but they can also be influenced by various pollutants. In this study, selected water quality parameters were determined from the local Klokot (Bihać, Bosna i Hercegovina) spring during the winter period over three months in order to assess its quality and identify potential environmental and human use risks. A detailed analysis of physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters was conducted. The obtained results were analysed and compared with legal regulations to determine the water's suitability for various purposes. Certain parameters showed deviations from optimal values, indicating potential anthropogenic impacts. These findings emphasize the need for continuous water quality monitoring and the implementation of adequate protection measures to ensure the long-term sustainability of this important resource.

Keywords
