Sažetak

The job of a professional chainsaw operator is physically extremely demanding, often requiring significant musculoskeletal strain and large ranges of motion in the joint systems. Range of motion depends on the worker’s body being properly warmed up, which should be achieved through progressive physical activity. A warmed-up body has a greater range of motion compared to when it is at rest or not physically active. That is why, to make the work of the chainsaw worker as safe as possible, and to reduce the probability of sprains and other muscle and tendons injuries to a minimum, before starting work it is necessary to raise the working capacity through raising body temperature and warm-up the muscles and joint systems. The above is very similar to preparing an athlete for training or competition. Let us recall, in school we began physical education classes by perform appropriate warm-up routine. According to a similar principle, chainsaw operator body should be prepared for work. Raising body temperature is achieved by walking from the auxiliary warehouse to the felling site or the wood production area, i.e., the cutting line. The time required to warm-up depends on the outside temperature. The lower the temperature, the longer the warm-up time. After the initial rise in body temperature, it is essential to perform several dynamic warm-up exercises before starting work. Dynamic warm-up exercises must be specific and targeted. They should increase the mobility of joint systems that often lack mobility but are crucial for the work of chainsaw operators, particularly the hip and shoulder joints. Additionally, the exercises should activate muscles responsible for stabilizing joint systems that commonly lack stability. This is especially important for the lumbar spine, followed by the knees. This paper presents a set of exercises that chainsaw operators can perform before starting work. Within this paper, through QR code and photos, a possible complex of exercises that chainsaw operators can perform before starting work is presented.
