Abstract
The aim of the study is to present methods for monitoring and attracting harmful insects in vineyards. Monitoring of vineyard pest populations is the foundation of modern integrated protection programs, as it enables timely decision-making and a reduction in the use of chemical agents. Pheromone traps are used to monitor the flight of grapevine moths, European grapevine moth (Lobesia botrana Denis & Schiff) and European grape berry moth (Eupoecilia ambiguella Hübner) and other Lepidoptera. Yellow sticky traps are used for early detection and assessment of the American grapevine leafhopper (Scaphoideus titanus Ball). To detect mites that cause erineum (Eriophyes vitis Pagenstecher syn. Colomerus vitis Pagenstecher), bud mite damage (Clepitrimerus vitis Nalepa syn. Phyllocoptes vitis Nalepa), and red mite, (Panonychus ulmi Koch.) winter inspection of grapevine and inspections of leaves and buds in vegetation are conducted, while Merike pots are used to sample various species of weevils and other winged insects. Soil pests are examined by digging holes and counting larvae and insects that live in the soil. Systematic monitoring with these methods ensures timely vineyard protection, reduces the need for chemical inputs, and preserves ecological balance.
