Abstract

Appetite is not just a feeling of hunger, but a multi-layered phenomenon that includes the perception of the need for food, motivation to eat, and emotional response. Given the growing prevalence of obesity and metabolic diseases, understanding how we can control appetite is increasingly important in a public health context. Appetite regulation is controlled by the central nervous system, regulatory hormones, and neuropeptides such as ghrelin and leptin. Identifying the connection between hormones, neurotransmitters, and areas of the brain responsible for appetite regulation is crucial for enhancing our understanding of conditions like obesity and developing better therapeutic interventions.
