Searching for Alveria – Brgud, Bjelina, Dobropoljci

Abstract

The paper presents the results of a field survey of archaeological sites in the area of the villages of Bjelina, Brgud and Dobropoljci in Bukovica in northern Dalmatia. The survey of these settlements attempted to document a number of previously unknown and unexplored locations. Some new insights into previously known sites are also presented. The paper also revises what is currently known about Roman settlement Alveria, while trying to determine which of the sites from the area covered by the field survey most closely matches the location of this Roman settlement.
