Abstract
This paper presents the importance of the school library as a place for peer–topeer learning, or more exactly, peer teaching as a form of peer learning. The first, theoretical part briefly presents changes in the education system, and thus in the work of the school library. School library has long been more than just a place to store books, but also a dynamic place where active learning and peer–to–peer learning are encouraged. The modern school library represents a key component of the educational system, which not only supports the educational process, but also enriches and transforms it. It represents a bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enabling students to connect with each other, share ideas and develop critical thinking. The second part of the paper presents concrete examples of good practice in peer teaching from the library of the Ksaver Šandor Gjalski Elementary School in Zagreb. Special emphasis is placed on the function of the library in the peer–to–peer teaching process and on the role of the school librarian as a leader and mentor to students. The paper is additionally enriched by students' reflections on the activities carried out.
