Abstract

Robots are devices that continuously perform simple tasks with minimal probability of error. Over the last few decades, we have witnessed the increasingly widespread use of robots in various areas of human activity, from space technology and the automotive industry, to simple robotic systems used in households to facilitate daily chores. Medicine, as one of the most important, and arguably the most dynamic and technologically demanding fields, has become central to the development and application of various robotic systems. The goal is to achieve diagnostics and therapy for various diseases that are as non-invasive, precise, and safe as possible, resulting in better treatment outcomes. This paper will present some of the most important robotic platforms as well as some of the key areas of their application.
