Sažetak

The aim of this study was to examine the perceived
need for supervision and the willingness to participate
in supervision among psychiatric nurses, and to explore
their associations with occupational stress, burnout,
and emotional labour. A cross-sectional design was
conducted on a sample of N = 164 participants employed
in psychiatric hospitals and clinics, using selfreport
measures.

The findings confirmed a discrepancy between perceived
need and willingness to participate in supervision.
Participants with secondary-level education reported
a lower perceived need and lower willingness
to participate, despite experiencing higher levels of occupational
stress. Perceived need was positively associated
with occupational stress, exhaustion, and surface
acting, whereas disengagement and overall burnout
were negatively associated with willingness to participate.
Regression analyses indicated that educational
level and overall occupational stress predicted perceived
need, while sex and educational level predicted
willingness to participate.

These findings highlight the importance of a systematically
structured and organizationally supported implementation
of supervision in psychiatric settings.
